As the bellwether of the research on ecological civilization,the forestry universities play distinctive roles in this area.Thus,the forestry universities should bear the historical responsibility in the construction of ecological civilization.The paper takes Beijing Forestry University for example and discusses the distinctive roles in detail.This paper believes that,firstly,the forestry universities should bear the role in guiding and demonstrating the ecological civilization,which can promote the ecology construction by means of developing green campus culture and demonstrating green education;secondly,the forestry universities should bear the role in educating the public.The forestry universities should carry on the researches and discover on eco-environmental problems,perfect green courses and deliver green concept so as to train high-level talents for the ecology construction;finally,the forestry universities should strengthen the service role in the sustainable development of this society.The forestry universities need to exploit their advantage,and keep the construction of socialist ecological civilization go well.
