摘要
The Merguellil catchment is a typical Mediterranean semi-arid basin which undergoes regular water shortage aggravated by current drought.During the last decades the continuous construction of small and large dams within the watershed has altered its natural hydrologic regime. The work presented here attempts to simulate the actual water and nutrient balance using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model. Two alternatives scenarios were further generated in order to improve the availability of water in terms of quantity and quality. The first one regards the removal of ponds and reservoirs from the upstream area.
