White lies are beneficial on various occasions to the implementation of smooth communication and the maintenance of a good interpersonal relationship.To help people concerned better understand white lies,this paper intends to approach the topic from the following five aspects(cooperative principle(CP);conversational implicature;politeness principle(PP);adaptation theory and relevance theory) so as to achieve more efficiency in our daily communication.
