与时俱进,培养外语复合型人才

Training Personnel with Both Foreign Language Competence and Specialized Expertise

随着我国加入WTO和改革开放的不断深入,我国社会对外语人才提出了专业化和实用化的要求。外语专业教育应与时俱进,努力培养"专业+外语"和"外语+专业"这两类复合型人才。可采取的对策包括:因材施教,鼓励学生跨系、跨专业听课,允许学生变更专业甚至转换学校;鼓励学生自我设计成才;继续推行和完善"双学位"、"主辅修"等制度;招收有经验且有培养前途的在职人员进行专门培训,提高外语或专业水平;采取"产学合作"的形式,与企事业单位联合培养人才。

With China’s joining the WTO and the deepening of her reform movement in the new century, there is a growing demand for two types of foreign language related personnel: those with foreign language competence and specialized expertise and those with specialized expertise and foreign language competence. To keep up with the times, our foreign language education should implement reforms accordingly. Strategies that could be adopted include, students allowed to choose what suits their aptitude and to change their majors or even colleges if necessary, more 'dual degree' and 'major plus minor' programs made available, training those already with work experience in a specialized field to improve their foreign language proficiency, and initiating the mode of 'university-industry cooperation'.
