The authors review some related historical references of poems,verses and paintings so as to corn- firm that Mei flower is one of the most important plants in Chinese traditional vase-flower arrangement.Mei flow- er,possessing natural and artistic beauty through its flower color,flower fragrance,gesture and taste,has been very prosperous and widely needed in Chinese traditional vase-flower arrangement for thousands of years.Furthermore, main traditional types,their characteristics,methods and principles of Mei vase-flower arrangement were intro- duced and discussed.
