Sculpture, an old and young theme, is limitlessly expanded in its intension and extension. Sculpture is literature, architecture and music. Not merely does sculpture have image and is its color visible, but, there is also sound and rhythm of sculpture to hear and feel. Sculpture is so uncommon and supernatural to be all-inclusive. Till now Chinese sculpture takes on a heating power radiating and intense emotion impacting state of the height of power and splendor. New expression language is used for traditional sculpture an to re-show profound humane intension. Modem sculpture (including avant-courier art) conducts inquiry and exploration in philosophy meaning and art itself, meanwhile, it pays close attention to society, politics and environment, and embodies humankind's joviality of life ultimate and free eagerness and pursuit. Various materials and techniques brought into and various thinking and mentality formed strongly cleanses the contemporary sculpture to its new and revolutionary development. In order to reflect and show great changes and development of China's sculpture in recent 50 years, our magazine especially publicizes some sculpture works of two large exhibitions of China Art-gallery and the China Millennium Monument for readers to experience and contrast by means of typical examples of actual works.
