英语中的"无灵主语"运用广泛,如果配合"有灵谓语/有灵动词"的使用,便形成英语语言的优势。相比之下,汉语不太具备这方面的优势。因此,就"无灵主语"的翻译而言,英译汉时需要灵活处理;汉译英时则可以发挥译语优势,注意适时运用英语的"无灵主语"和"有灵谓语/有灵动词"。

The extensive use of inanimate subject,together with animate predicate/verb,endows the English language with an advantage over the Chinese language in this respect.Therefore,lexibility should be applied to English - Chinese translation of sentences with inanimate subject,while regarding Chinese - English translation,English inanimate subject and animate predicate/verb can be used so as to bring its advantage into full play.
