A narratological study of Great Expectations not merely reveals the different narrative techniques Dickens employed,but also speaks for the fictiveness of any narrative.The analysis of narrative progression of the novel makes it clear that most narratives,even as reliable as Great Expectations,move around the axis both of story and discourse.The complicated ethical positioning on the part of the reader necessitates the pluralistic reading of any narrative.
