A COMPARISON OF TWO APPROACHES TO THE TEACHING OF CONVERSATION 被引量:1

摘要 Through analysis of the nature of conversation, this paper discusses two aaproaches (indirect approach and direct approach) and suggests that a balance of both approaches should be the most appropriate methodological option. Language is to communicate: it exists for that reason. 'Speaking' is one of the major ways of communication. A person who has learned a language but can't speak it has not learned the language in the proper sense. Therefore, it is of great significance to cultivate and improve the learner's competence in speaking or participating in a conversation. 本文在分析中国英语会话教学现状的基础上,论述了会话的目的(交流信息与社交需要),话轮替换原则及策略,提出和改变话题的原则,会话的句法特征及风格,流利性及准确性的要求等问题。主要对两种基本的教学方法(直接法和间接法)作了比较分析,得出的结论是:两种方法都服务于会话的目的,但是各有优势与局限,应互为补充。在会话教学中,既要重视会话训练和能力的习得,也要强调会话技巧与策略的系统学习。
