一个中国小孩的英语交际策略(英文)

AN ANALYSIS OF A CHINESE CHILD'S COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES IN ENGLISH CONVERSATIONS

摘要 本文讨论了一名七岁中国小孩在英语交谈中使用的交际策略。结果表明:该小孩频繁使用交际策略,且80%以上属于成就策略;与此相反,164名大学生"减缩策略的使用频率明显高于成就策略",对比分析原因后作者得出结论:学习环境影响学习者的抑制,抑制进而影响交际策略的使用。对英语教学的启示是:在我国,学生主要在课堂上学习英语,因此教师有必要创造一个轻松有趣的课堂环境,减少学生的抑制,使学生积极主动、愉快而有效地学习。 This paper analyzes the communication strategies employed by α 7-year-old English learner based on audiotape recordings of four conversations lasting for 10 minutes during which his behaviors were observed. It was found that the subject used various strategies 26 times, 80% of which were achievement ones. Comparing the result with that of a previous research by Gao Haihong in 1999 on 164 college students in Wuxi which showed that those students 'obviously' used more reduction strategies than achievement ones, the author concludes that inhibition, which is partly determined by the learner's personality and paatly by learning situations, is highly relevant to the use of communication strategies. The implication for English teaching is that teachers should try to create a lively atmosphere in class to ease students' inhibition.
