摘要
How does a child learn his or her first language so well in such a short time? What is the course of language learning? Developmental psycholinguistics, the study of child language, has attempted to answer such questions over the past 30 years, and in so doing, has provided us with considerable insight into the how and why of first language acquisition. What is the affiliation between first language acquisition and second language acquisition? Why do we Chinese find it so difficult to learn the second language--English ? These are the questions we are trying to answer in this paper.
