摘要
荷加斯反对新古典主义美学观念 系统地阐述了美的六项原则即适应 多样 统一 单纯 复杂 尺寸 特别是蛇线形的提出 在西方美学史上具有重要价值。荷加斯的形式美学原则是纯粹自然物质的形式美的规律 这是对西方形式美学思想的继承。按照国内学者赵宪章教授的研究 形式几乎是西方美学的精神实质。
Hogarth opposed to the Neo Classical Aesthetics and systematically expounded the six beauty principles of adaptation variation, unity simplicity , diversity and measurement. His serpent I me form is especially important in Western aesthetics history. His formal aesthetics principle is the law that governs the natural formal beauty and it is inherited from the Western aesthetic tradition According to the research of Chinese scholar Zhao Xianzhang, form is the spiritual essence of Western aesthetics
