摘要
中国知识分子强烈的民族意识和国家意识,远远超出了对于社会的根本问题、人的根本问题的关怀。这体现了中国思想文化重实用、功利性的传统,20世纪90年代以来中国知识界对于传统文化的过分褒扬,将民族传统文化当成与西方文化艺术抗衡的武器的心态,比较起80年代的“西化”倾向,对于中国现代美术的发展无疑具有更大的负面影响。
Chinese intellectuals have strong national and state consciousness, far surpassing their concern over the fundamental social and humanitarian questions. This embodies the practical and utilitarian tradition of Chinese thought. The excessive praise of the traditional Chinese culture in the intellectual circles in 1990's and using it as the counter force against western culture have more of a negative influence on the development of modern fine arts of China comparing with the 'Westernization' tendencies in the 1980's.
