One summer some years ago, two friends of mine, who were notedcameramen, and I ventured into Ngari. We left Beijing and went from Lhasa, Gyangze, Tingri, Burang, Zada and eventually reached Shiquanhe, capital of Ngari Prefecture. Our trip lasted for some 40 days, covering a distance of 14,390 km.
