As a natural scenery plate, Huangshan Mount is one part of Huizhou culture, and it occupies an very important place in Huizhou Study, which is considered as a rising and famous theory. But, what is the origin of the name as Huangshan Mount? The theory of Huang Di making pills of immortality continues all through the ages. Xu Chengyao, a scholar of Qing Dynasty, once queried that theory. Taking his query as a starting point in consideration, this essay cites instances such as The History of the Former Tang Dynasty, poems of Tang Dynasty, the theory of Taoist School and so on, and raises a query about traditional explanation, then puts forward that the name of Huangshan Mount is from THE HEAVEN IS DARK AND THE EARTH IS YELLOW, which appears in The Earth Trigram of The Book of Changes.
