摘要
世纪之交,中央决定实施西部大开发战略。这是以江泽民同志为核心的党中央,落实邓小平同志"两个大局"的战略思想,总揽全局,面向新世纪的重大决策,充分体现了中央对西部地区的重视和关怀,对于加快西部地区发展、缩小东西部地区差距,具有重要的现实意义和深远的历史意义,也给四川带来了新的历史发展机遇。机遇稍纵即逝,四川不进则退。
Sichuan Provnce will focus on the starting work for the large-scale development in West China this year. The work is as follows: 1. strengthening the infrastructure construction such as transportation, water conservancy, telecom, power grid; 2.improving ecological environment; 3.making better use of tourism resources; 4.working out good plans, policies and measures to create a good environment for Sichuan to open wider to the outside world.
