今年5月开幕、会期半年的’99昆明世博会,是中国政府在本世纪末举办的最后一次国际性盛会。它是展示参展各国民族、文化、科技成果的舞台,是世界各民族和平与友谊的桥梁与纽带,也是展示我国社会进步、经济发展、民族团结、政治稳定的窗口。本次世博会将把世界园林园艺盛会所赋予的国际性、高品味、娱乐性和群众性充分体现出来,让园艺之花飘向四海。
'99 Kunming world Horticulture Fair is a grand global gathering to be hosted by the Chinese government on the threshold of the new century. The fair is to last 184 days. It will be an excellent forum for gardening enthusiasts and organizations to exchange information on the cultivation and breeding of flowers, fruits and vegetables and on the ways to protect the environment. The participating countries will put on a show of their nationalities, culture, horticulture and relative scientific research results. The fair will serve as a bridge of peace and friendship linking the various nationalities of the world and as a window displaying the social progress, national unity and economic growth of China.
