Abstract This paper,according to the historical state of cold steel from the Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period, comparing many unearthed material objects with rich historical materials, gives us a clear narration of the arms unearthed from the warrior figure pits of the Qin dynasty including such problems as their kinds,shape and structure, use,distinguishing feature,value,technological level and influence upon the evolution of cold steel afterwards.
