跨世纪的师专地理教育面临着来自科技、社会及教育自身发展带来的一系列挑战。针对师专地理教育专业课程体系现存的弊端，根据课程设置的基本理论，提出了面向21世纪师专地理教育专业课程体系改革的设想，并对优化课程结构，构建科学的课程体系以及现行师专地理教育的“主辅修”制如何与新的课程改革接轨提出了改进建议。
