摘要
战后半个世纪以来,英国高等教育经历了恢复、发展、调整,收缩等几个阶段.增加大学数量,开展大学推广运动,推出开放大学的形式,调整教育政策等有力措施,大大提高了全民受高等教育的机会.重文轻理,重理轻工的英国高等教育在注重基础科学的同时,也把注意力转向了应用科学.
The higher education in post-war Britain in recent 5O years has expeenced serveral stages:recovery development adjustment and contraction. Higher education has gready been popularized through the imPlement of effective measurements, such as opening more universities, higher education popularzing movcments, starting open universities, adjusting educational policies, etc. Applied science has gained reasonable attention from the pure-science-oriented academic circle in Britain.
