本文作者根据近年来我国工程教育界开展的国际交流和对美国、加拿大等国的访问，提出工程教育要适应21世纪全球经济发展趋势的需要。指出当前世界经济发展十分迅速，工程教育必须注意与工业、经济的结合，要把工程教育放在全球性经济的环境中考察自身的发展趋势。努力实施“科教兴国”战略，加快工程教育改革。

According to the international exchange of China's engineering education and the visits to U.S and Canada,the authors put out that engineering education must meet the trend of global economic development in 21st century.
