摘要
本文剖析了世纪之交的中国高等教育面临的严峻挑战，指出高等教育培养的跨世纪人才应具有的主要特征，呼吁大学教育以选择和创新为己任；抓住机遇，迎接挑战；转变教育思想和观念，推动素质教育．
The author analyzes the serious challenges which Chinese higher education is facing at the turning century. The main traits of the talent have been showed. Choice and innovation are the tasks of university education; Grasp the chance and meet the challenges, Convert education thoughts ideas and motivate quality education.
