本文从语言实践出发,探讨了语法关系中的目的复句,认为一般语法著作中不提目的复句或作为因果句的一种下属类型是不妥的,目的句有跟因果句不同的句法形式和语义内容,并从目的句的界说及类型,如何区分目的句和因果句,以及目的句的作用三个方面进行了阐述。

Practically,the paper probes into the grammatical relation of the clause of purpose and comes to the conclusion that it is improper for some grammatical books to overlook the function of the clause of purpose or even consider it as a sub - type of the clause of cause-effect. Between both clauses there is a great difference in syntax and semantics. The paper,too,explains the way to distinguish the clause of purpose from the clause of cause-effect,the classification of the clause of purpose, and the function of the clause of purpose.
