BEFORE meeting Zhou Shuying, I only knew that she was a 32-year-old rural woman from Weixian County, Hebei Province who was good at paper-cutting. Afterwards, I realized that she was also a woman of lofty thoughts who knows something about freedom. Zhou Shuying was born in Zhouzhangzhuang Village, a specialized paper-cutting village in Weixian County.
