本文以对香港和东南亚地区的实地考察成果为依据，论述了海外华人金融业的发展进程；同时采取定量分析的方法，探讨了亚洲金融危机对海外华人金融业的影响问题。

Based upon an on-the-spot investigation of Hong Kong and southeast Asia, this paper deals with the developmental course of overseas Chinese financial community and goes on to make a quantitative analysis of the full and accurate data therein for a research into the problem of to what extent the Asian financial crisis today exerts influence upon overseas Chinese financial community.
