HUIZHOU has a brilliant past. Ever since the famous Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo (1037-1101) was banished to the city by the imperial court, Huizhou has had a certain measure of fame. Life in exile didn’t make Su gloomy. Instead, he found inspiration in the mountains, the lakes, the rivers and the sea.
