黄土高原啮齿动物有５５种，隶属于２目８科６亚科．将黄土高原划分为１６个动物地理省：（１）豫西黄土台地农作省，有１９种，大仓鼠、棕色田鼠等为优势种；（２）关中平原农作省，分为东部旱地农作州和西部水旱间作州，有１７种；（３）陕北黄土山地森林草原省，分北部干草原州和南部森林草原州，有２０种，拟家鼠为本省特有种；（４）晋西高原丘陵山地省，有１６种，长尾仓鼠、中华鼢鼠为优势种；（５）中条山地森林省，分为南麓森林州和北坡森林州，有１２种，岩松鼠、褐家鼠等为优势种；（６）晋中北山地盆地省，分为忻定盆地州和大营丘陵山地州，有１４种，子午沙鼠等为优势种，山西绒鼠为本省特有种；（７）晋冀北桑干河谷省，分为张家口—怀来谷地州、大同盆地州和晋西北丘陵缓坡州，有１６种；（８）晋东南黄土台地省，有１５种，社鼠等为优势种；（９）晋中山地盆地省，有１７种，中华鼢鼠、褐家鼠为优势种；（１０）宁中北丘陵平原省，有２３种，鼹形田鼠、羽尾跳鼠和五趾心颅跳鼠为本省特有种；（１１）宁南塬区山地省，有２７种，分为六盘山地州和宁南黄土塬农作州，斯氏鼢鼠为特有种；（１２）陇东高原省，有２６种，中华鼢鼠等为优势种，钩齿鼯鼠为特有种；（１３）陇中黄土塬农作省，?

There are 55 speceise of glires in Loess Plateau, belonging to 2 orders, 8 families and 6 subfamilies. Based on the zoogeographic methods for division, Loess Plateau is divided into 16 zoogeographic provinces as follows: Ⅰ.Loess farmland plateau in western Henan,which has 19 species with two dominant species:Greatest longtailed hamster and Mandarin vole; Ⅱ.Guanzhong plain farmland,has 17 species in East nonirrigated farmland state and West wet and dryland state; Ⅲ.Loess mountain and forest grassland in northern Shaanxi,has 20 species in North dry grassland state and South forest grassland state with the exclusive species:Turkestan rat; Ⅳ.Mountains in western Shanxi plateau, has 16 species with two dominant species:Lesser longtailed hamster and Common Chinese zokor; Ⅴ.Forest mountains of Zhongtiao, has 12 species in North and South state with two dominant species:Pere David's rock squirrel and Brown rat; Ⅵ.Mountainous plain in central and northern Shanxi, has 14 species in Xindin basin state and Dayin mountainous state with the dominant species,Midday gerbil and the exclusive species,Shanxi vole; Ⅶ.Shanggan plain in northern Shanxi and Hebei,has 16 species in Zhang-Huai valley, Datong basin and northwest Shanxi mountainous state; Ⅷ.Loess plateau in southeastern Shanxi,has 15 species with the dominant species:Chinese whitebellied rat; Ⅸ.Mountainous basin in central Shanxi,has 17 species with Common Chinese zokor and Brown rat as the dominant species; Ⅹ.Mountainous plain in central and northern Ningxi,has 23 species with exclusive species:Northern molevole and Fivetoed pygmy jerboa; Ⅺ.Mountains and plateau in southern Jingxia,has 27 species in Liupan mountains and Ningnan loess plateau state with the exclusive species:Smith′s zokor;ⅩⅡ.Loess plateau in eastern Gansu,has 26 species with Common Chinese zokor as the dominant species;ⅩⅢ.Loess plateau farmland in central Gansu,has 31 species with the exclusive species:Small flying squirrel;ⅩⅣ.Huanghe river plain in Qinghai,has 19 species, Plateau hare,Moupin pika and Red-eared pika as exclusive species;ⅩⅤ.Loess plateau in western Liaoning,has 8 species with dominant species:Mongolian ground squirrel;ⅩⅥ.Hoholt plain and south of Daqing mountain in innerMongolia,has 19 species with the common species:Mongolian gerbil.
