低比特率图像压缩技术的进展

Advances in Low Bitrate Picture Compression

本文回顾了近年来在低比特率图像压缩技术研究、开发及应用领域的简况．简要论述了低比特率经典方法和现代方法．最后就本课题组在基于图像特征压缩编码技术领域的研究工作和成果作了简单介绍，其对发展图像编码（尤其是低比特率图像通信）的新方法有积极意义．

The recent research, development and applications of low bitrate picture compression techniques are reviewed in this paper. The classical and modern picture compression coding methods are discussed briefly. Finally, the research work and accomplishments of edgemodel based compression method is briefly introduced. This method will be more valuable and useful for developing new picture coding, especially, for low bitrate picture communication.
