摘要
研究英语缩略语的构成规律。首先简述缩略法的三个原则，然后介绍缩略语构成的五种典型形式，即：首字母缩略法，裁减法，合成法，外来语缩略语范例，人们习惯上用并已约定俗成的某些缩略法。最后略谈缩略语的写、读及其它容易忽略的问题。
This paper discusses the rules of English abbreviation.First,a brief description of abbreviation is given.Then,five kinds of typical forms of abbreviation are introduced,i.e.,initialism,clipping,blending,abbreviation of loan words and some habitual formation of abbreviation.Finally,the writtern form and the pronunciation of abbreviation are mentioned.
