计算机辅助语言教学的发展及未来

THE DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE OF COMPUTER ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING

主要阐述了计算机辅助语言教学的概况、计算机辅助语言教学软件的四个发展阶段和每一发展阶段语言软件的特点、计算机辅助语言教学的优点和局限性以及它的未来发展等。同时，就如何使计算机在语言教学领域更好地发挥作用，以及语言教师应具备哪些知识才能更有效地将计算机结合到教学中进行了讨论。认为计算机普及到语言教学领域已成为必然，语言教师应跟上时代发展，利用这一现代技术来有效地提高英语教学质量。

This paper discusses the following aspects of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL): the brief description of CALL; the four stages of the development of CALL software programs; the characteristics of CALL programs in each stages; the advantages and limitations of CALL; the possible future development of CALL. It also discusses the way of a better application of computers in language teaching and the way how language teachers can keep a close step with the rapid development of language teaching industry. It ends with the conclusion that CALL holds a bright future and language educators needs to utilize the new technology to improve language teaching.
