在录像机中，录放两种状态的头带相对运动不可能做到完全一致，因而重放的视频信号中必定存在时基误差，这将使图像彩色的不失真重现受到影响，用伪时基校正的方法可以从一定程度上消除这种影响．

In VCR, it is imposible to make exactly same the againstmovement of the head and the tape in recording and the playing back. So theremust have been some timebase error in the video signal,which will affect thepicture colour,but the affecting can be reduced by the way of the false timebasecorrection.
