Data from the 1982 and 1990 censuses in Tibet show the birth rate in Tibet and in all the prefectures of the Region remained constantly high from 1981 to 1989.The annual number of births rose from 57;600 in 1981 to 65,100 in 1989,an increase of 13.02%.
