云横雪拥觅蓝关——与《语文》编者及吴金夫同志商榷

Where the place Name "Languan Pass" Locates——A discussion with the editors of Chinese text bookbeing usedin middle school and Mr.Wu Jinfu

韩愈贬赴潮州刺史途中,赋有《左迁至蓝关示侄孙湘》诗。中学《语文》课本注释“蓝关”在蓝田县,吴金夫同志又著文说在广东龙川县。本文引用足够的地理、方域历史资料及其他证据证明:韩诗所写指的“蓝关”,在今商州市牧护关,即古峣关旧所;不在蓝田县,也不在龙川县。

Han Yu (768-824A.D.), a great poet, proser, and philosopher of the Tang Dynasty, was relegated to the position as Governor of Chaozhou Prefecture in 819A. D. On his way to the post, he wrote his famous poem j To My Grandnephew Han Xiang While at Languan Pass on My Relegation Tour for Chaozhou, The place name 'Languan Pass'mentioned in the poem has been interpreted in Chinese text book as 'Languan Pass' at Lantian County, Shaanxi Province and it has also been interpreted by Mr. Wu Jinfu in his paper as 'Languan Pass' at Longchuan Couty, Guangdong Province. Rased on rich geographical annals, local annals historical infirmation and other evidence, this paper presents a new interpretation; 'Languan Pass' was at what is today's Muhuguan Pass of Shangzhou, Shaanxi Province, Thit is the so-called Guyao guan Pass in history. So 'Languam Pass' is neither at Lantian County, Shaanxi Province nor at Longchuan County, Guangdong Province.
