Amongthemicecaughtfromtheseparatelitersintheendemicareasofepidemichemorrhagicfever(EHF),WujingCounty,JiangsuProvince,itwasfoundthatApodemusagrariuswasthepredominantspeciesthathasthehighestpositivityrateofepidemichemorrhagicfevervirus(EHFV)antigenandantibodyreaction,whichwaspositivelyrelatedtothenumberofthemiceineachliter.ThelitersinhabitedbyEHFVinfectedmicewereobviouslyaggregate.Ofthegamasidmitesdetectedinthelitersofmice,Eulaelapsstabularisandhemolaelapsglasgowiwerefoundtobethepredominantspecies.TherewasapositiverelationshipbetweenthenumbersofmitesandthepositivityratesofEHFVantigenandantibodyreactionsinthemiceineachlit-ter.ThevirusesisolatedfromApodemusagrariusandmitesfromthesameliterandtheresultsofthemonoclonalantibody-detectionasaywereidentical.
