Seven anti-core-LPS Mabs have been prepared with E. coli J5 mutant as an antigen. Five are of IgM/κ, one IgG2b/λ, and one IgG3/λ. The five Mabs of IgM are studied for specificity, cross-reactivity, purification and protection. They have broad cross-reactivity in GNBs. The purity of purified Mabs is more than 90%. At the dosages of 62.5-250μg(Ab)/mouse and the challenge of a minimal LD100 E. coli, the survival rates are 40.5-78.0% higher in antibody groups than in control. The protective effects declined with the lapse of time in storage.
