The structure and performance of the electrohydraulic proportional position servo system (EHPPS) were discussed. The intelligent pole placement position control strategy was presented, and its existence was proved. Besides, according to the characteristic of the flow discontinuity for symmetric valve controlling unsymmetric cylinder, a method of digital flow compensation was given. Simulations and experiments showed that the system has good control performance and robustness.
