本文通过分析现代美国共和党、民主党与选民和候选人关系的变化，说明在现代美国选举活动中两大党的作用已严重削弱，并进一步探讨了其发生、发展的原因。

Through an analysis of changes in the relationship of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party with their presidential candidates and their voters in contemporary USA,this paper comes to the conclusion that the roles played by the two large US political parties in contemporary US electoral activities have been seriously weakened,and presents an investigation on the root causes of this occurrence.
