FALL VISIT TO DAOCHENG COUNTY

从成都出发,沿川藏线西行,在横断山脉绵延亘古的崇山峻岭中,有一块灵气逼人的地方——稻城。稻城县地处青藏高原向云贵高原倾斜的连接部,属四川省甘孜藏族自治州。稻城藏语意为“河谷沟口宽阔之地”。

Start your trip from Chengdu and travel westward along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, you will come to the Hengduan Mountains and find yourself in a scenic town-the county seat of Daocheng. Daocheng, the Tibetan word for 'flat land in the gully', is a county under Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. In the tranquility and harmony of fall, Daocheng strikes you as mysterious, beautiful, magnificent and in the meantime, emotion-stirring. Upon the side of Haizi Mountain there lie 1, 145 natural lakes that spread flat as mirrors or glitter as sapphires. The three snow-capped peaks of Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Xianuoduoji resemble a Buddha, a fair lady and a gentleman respectively. In the moonlight Peak Yangmaiyong looks all the more pure, beautiful and charmingly bashful. Peak Xianuoduoji, wearing his white hat, tilts his head to cast his tender looks into her eyes. The Buddha of Xiannairi, turning with his back to them, pretends to see nothing, what an interesting and touching picture. But the cream of Daocheng is still to come; the Echu Mountains, covered with forests or low woods, rise and fall in colors charmingly red, brilliantly yellow or tenderly green. This intoxicating scene reminds you of thousands of peacocks standing in their pride.
