四川宜宾地区是闻名中外的美酒“五粮液”的产地,是国务院总理李鹏的故乡。在迎接21世纪的“九五”计划即将开始的时候,宜宾人民决心以大开放促大开发,以大开发实现宜宾经济的大发展。独特的区位优势宜宾地处中国西南腹心川滇黔三省结合部和金沙江、岷江、长江三江交汇处,古称“叙府”,历史上就是交通枢纽和商贸中心,素有“万里长江第一城”之称,也是西南古丝绸之路的起点。
s the hometown of Chinese Premier Li Peng as well as the production place of world-famed wine, 'WULIANGYE', Yibin is located at the junction of Yunnan. Guizhou and Sichuan Province in the central part of southwestern China. In addition, it is also the place where the Jingsha and Minjiang river meet and merge into the Yangtze river. Being the starting point of the ancient 'Southern Silk Road' and honoured as The First City on the Yangtze River', Yibin has long been the hub of transportation and commerce since ancient times. Endowed with affluent agricultural, mineral and tourism resources, Yibin enjoys a unique geographical location. Guided by the principle of making full use of geographical advantages and opening wider to the outside world formulated by the local party and governmental authorities, priority has been given to infrastructure development. In the last 2 or 3 years, over 2.27 billion RMB yuan has been injected in energy, transportation, telecommunications and environmental protection etc, which saw a breakthrough achievement in its economic development and reinforcement of economic strength. In the days to come, focusing on infrastructure development, we will further improve investment environment and attract more overseas investments in an effort to steering the economy towards a rapid, sustained but healthy path of development.
