We should stress first that this is an important visit.First,for the past few years the Sino-US relations have been unsta-ble,and 1996 was America's presidential election year.Second,since this was CAFIU's first return visit to AFPC's visiting China in 1994,it had a great signifi-cance in strengthening the contacts and exchanges be-tween the two organizations.
