The Editor’s Note:Recently a book titled A Depiction of Trialsof Strength Between China and the US was published in Beijing.It isedited and mainly written by Professor Chen Feng of China Instituteof Contemporary International Relations.Four young researcher ofthe same institute also participated in the writing.After the book waspublished,it has evoked strong repercussions both at home andabroad.Its first edition has already been sold out and the second edi-tion has rushed through print.Foreign press and news agencies alsopay much attention to the book and have made quite a few comments.Some foreign experts and scholars have asked the publishing house orthe authors to send them a copy of the book.Some overseas publish-ing house have even proposed to purchase the book’s copyright.A-gainst this backdrop,members of the editorial department of this jour-nal has had a special interview with Professor Chen Feng to ask abouthis motive to write the book and some other related matters.Below isa brief record of the interview.
