This paper describes the technology of indigo dyeing in the culture of the Nan dian Yao(“Indigo”Yao people). The author analyses the technological principle of extracting indigo trom manacao (acanthaceous indigo strobilanthes cusia) and the tunchon of vanions constituents in indigo dges. This study exposes the yao peoples traditional technological accomplishments.
