在距昆明30余公里的螳螂川旁,矗立着一座西南边陲最大的钢城——昆明钢铁总公司。改革开放使这个具有57年历史的老企业焕发出了蓬勃生机,实现了超常规的发展,由一个名不见经传的"小钢联"一跃成为具有年产钢150万吨规模的钢铁联合企业;跻身于全国钢铁企业20强之列,在全国最大工业企业中居第82位,1994年,昆钢被国家评定为特大型工业企业。昆钢下辖28个厂矿,有固定资产原值35.93亿元,职工4万余人。拥有采矿、选矿、烧结、焦化、炼铁、炼钢、轧钢等生产主线单位和铁合金、耐火材料、机械制造、动力、运输、废金属加工、建筑安装等辅助生产部门。目前可冶炼150多个钢种,轧制2500多个品种规格钢材,按国外先进水平标准和国际标准组织生产25种产品。1995年产品质量等级率达84%以上。其中20MnSi 热轧带肋钢筋和60SiZMn 平面弹簧扁钢获冶金部金杯奖。上乘的产品质量,良好的信誉,赢得了广泛的用户,产品畅销省内外,部分产品还出口日本、新加坡、德国、缅甸、泰国等国家。
Kunming Steel and Iron General Corporation governs 28 plants.It has 3.593 billion net value of fixed assets and has a staff of more than 40, 000.It includes production units for mining,ore dressing,sintering,cok- ing,iron smelting,steel smelting,steel rolling,etc.and has auxiliary production departments for iron alloy,refractory material,machinery manufacturing,power,transport,waste metal processing,construction and installation,etc. During the 8th'Five-Year Plan',the corporation produced 4.224 million ton steel,4.396 million ton iron and 4.407 million ton steel prod- ucts,increasing by 74%,40% and 79% respectively compared with those during the 7th'Five-Year Plan'.It accumulated to gain profit of 100,000 yuan and profit-tax of 2.6 billion yuan,increasing by 142% and 210% respedively compared with those in the 7th'Five-Year Plan'.
