摘要
金秋的硕果挂满枝头,十月的艳阳洒满校园。中国国立华侨大学广大师生满怀欢欣,迎来了本校35岁华诞。35年前,当党中央、国务院决定在著名侨乡、历史文化名城——泉州创办我国第二所华侨高等学府时,这里还是一片沉寂的土地。35年后的今天,这里人才汇聚,高楼林立,学子莘莘,书声朗朗,已成为海内外社会瞩目的一块播种文明的圣地。近年来特别是1990年以来,该校致力于深化教育改革,焕发办学生机,提高教学质量和科学研究水平,加强学科建设和师资队伍建设,加强思想政治教育工作,进行校内管理体制改革,提高办学效益,发展校办产业,并积极争取各方面的支持,进一步改善办学条件,使学校的各项事业朝着办出特色、办出水平的目标协调稳步地前进。
State Overseas Chinese University is a comprehensive higher learning institution for over- seas Chinese to come back studying established in 1960 under the concern of Premier Zhou Enlai. The Board of Directors is set up and president responsibility system is conducted in the university.This major comprehensive university supported by the state includes 16 departments with 30 majors covering engineering、science、arts、commerce、laws、tourism and literatures, etc and 14 special points to award master degree.Pretraining department,on-the-service training department and foreign-related Chinese education department are also set up in the university.It has total in-school students of 4,800 odds from dozens of countries and re- gions.The campus covers an area of 700,000m^2 with architectural area of 240,000m^2.
