Prof. Chen Yiyu, ichthyologist and animal taxonomist by profession,was originally a research fellow with the CAS Institute of Hydrobiology in Wuhan City,Hubei Province.On June 12,1944, he was born in Xianyou County, Fujian Province.In July 1964,he graduated as a major in biology from Xiamen University and was assigned to conducting research work at the Wuhan Institute.
