There are much more waterprooting methods for building underwater bridge foundations.During constructing the bored plies or enlarging the foundations,the lighter and more convenient steel jacket box may be used instead of using the steel sheet pile as the cofferdam. The paper introduces systematically the design and the manufacture of the steel jacket box,the engineering technique of its installation and waterproofing.the scope of its applications, the matters needing attention, etc.
