根据宁波城市的定位，北仑要建设成现代化国际新城区，就必须透彻了解北仑经济地理优势条件及其对城市产业结构、城市功能的制约和要求。三个相互联系的特征相互制约、相互促进将构成新港城的总体特征，使之成为步入国际经济圈的动力和实现历史目标的客观依据。

In light with the urban sprawl plan of Ningbo, this article gives an introduction and analysis of the advantages of the economic geography and its restrictions on and requirements for the inductry struture, urban functions of the urban area of Beilun. The article argues that the thee inter-related, inter-restricted,inter-advanced elements will constitute the overall features of this new port city and be the motive power for the city to hoer intO the international economic circle and achieve its historical tasks.
