The numerical solution of initial value problems for systems of differential equations with a delay argument is discussed. The stability of adaptations of Runge-Kutta methods in the numerical solution of these problems is investigated. The stability of the adaptations under consideration is evaluated by analyzing their stability behaviour in the solution of the test equation U'(t) =LU(t) +MU(t-τ)(t≥0), where L, M denote constant complex matrices, and τ>0.
