The principle for stablizing the output voltage of the small-sized claw pole synchronous generator within wide range of operation speed is discussed in this paper, and tests and experiments of the prototype generator integrated with voltage regulator have been successfully carried out, results of which suggest that the generator can normally develop its voltage at self-exciting condition and its output performance is satisfactory. Therefore the generators manufactured in our institute could find wide application on small-sized tractors for the purpose of traffic lighting.
