Ammoniacal cyanidation of a copper bearing gold ore was investigated. Gold extraction of up to 97% was achieved by introducing complex agent of copper, stabilizing agent of iron and other modifications, compared to less than 30% by conventional cyanidation under otherwise identical conditions. The mechanism involved was discussed.
